Christine Sumner – Musical Director


Mrs.S. and Alice resized to 200 for Cant.PeopleA Music and Education Graduate.This led to teaching in Primary Schools as both Class Teacher and Music Specialist. Christine then trained as a teacher/advisor at Leicester University –  this  took her into schools in and around Hinckley,  in an advisory  and teaching role. Christine then decided to pursue her first love of singing, firstly studying at Birmingham Conservatoire, then privately with Nick Powell (RNCM) and finally with Pamela Cook, renowned Musical Director of Cantamus Girls’ Choir. It was with Pam that Christine achieved her Fellowship in Singing Performance. Since then Christine has performed locally and nationally and has established ‘The Christine Sumner Academy of Music’ and the ‘Cantabile Youth Choir’, which are both going from strength to strength.

Allan Procter – Accompanist and Secretary


Studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Norman Walker, Alexander Young and Denis Dowling. A soloist in Opera, Light Opera, Oratorio, lieder recitals and concerts, Allan was Musical Director for Nuneaton Amateur Operatic Society and for several shows in Hinckley, as well as Conductor of Bedworth Choral Society 2001-4. At present he is Chaplaincy Organist at the George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton.
